High-grade Cloudkicker drilling points to near-term production upside for New Murchison Gold
Jane Morgan Management
Key facts:
- New Murchison Gold Limited has reported high-grade drilling results from its Cloudkicker deposit in Western Australia, with standout intercepts including 10 metres at 13.61g/t gold and 1 metre at 54.80g/t gold, confirming shallow, high-grade mineralisation.
- The drilling programme comprised 136 grade control holes and 30 resource definition holes, with results demonstrating that the key Domain 4001 mineralised zone is more continuous than previously modelled.
- Cloudkicker sits within the approved mining area for the existing Crown Prince Gold Mine operation and has already been incorporated into Mining Lease M51/886, allowing mining to commence immediately without additional approvals or infrastructure.
- The company expects Cloudkicker to contribute approximately 20,000 ounces of gold to its production profile over the next 12 to 18 months, with first caprock ore scheduled to be crushed in September 2026.
- The latest drilling data will be incorporated into an updated Cloudkicker Mineral Resource Estimate before feeding into revised pit designs and the open pit mining schedule.
14 July 2026 – Perth, WA | New Murchison Gold Limited (ASX: NMG) has reported high-grade drilling results from the Cloudkicker deposit that are expected to improve the grade and continuity of the deposit while supporting mine planning at its operating Crown Prince Gold Mine.
The latest grade control and resource definition drilling has confirmed shallow, high-grade gold mineralisation at Cloudkicker, a deposit located immediately adjacent to the existing Crown Prince open pit. The results strengthen confidence in the resource model and are expected to support an updated Mineral Resource Estimate and mine design.
Among the standout intercepts were 10 metres at 13.61g/t gold, including 3 metres at 32.17g/t, 9 metres at 9.31g/t, and 1 metre at 54.80g/t gold, with drilling also returning multiple other high-grade intervals across the deposit. The program comprised 136 grade control holes and 30 resource definition holes, adding new geological information across the key ore domains.
The results are particularly significant for Domain 4001, the largest and highest-grade mineralised zone within Cloudkicker. According to the company, the latest drilling demonstrates the domain is more continuous than previously modelled while also increasing confidence in the geological interpretation.
Unlike many exploration discoveries that require separate approvals and new infrastructure, Cloudkicker sits within the approved mining area for the Crown Prince operation. The deposit has already been incorporated into Mining Lease M51/886, allowing mining activities to commence immediately as part of the existing operation.
The company said the new drilling data will now be incorporated into an updated Cloudkicker resource estimate before feeding into revised pit designs and the open pit mining schedule. Mining has already commenced at Cloudkicker, with the company conservatively expecting the pit to contribute around 20,000 ounces of gold to its production profile over the next 12 to 18 months. First caprock ore is scheduled to be crushed in September 2026.
Alex Passmore NMG’s CEO commented:
“We are very pleased to report these high grade results that will likely increase the grade and tonnage within the Cloudkicker deposit from the initial modelling. The deposit is within the footprint of our existing operations (mineralisation strikes up to the margin of our final waste dump design) and so provides relatively easy additional ounces to be brought into our production profile. Production from Cloudkicker can be brought online with very little additional resourcing on site and so presents a high return project. Mining has commenced and first caprock ore is to be crushed in September 2026.”
The next stage of work will incorporate the latest drilling and assay data into an updated Cloudkicker Mineral Resource Estimate, followed by revisions to the mine design and production schedule as the company advances development of the deposit within the Crown Prince operation.
