Fondue Chalet at Federation Square, Melbourne, partners with DoubleTree by Hilton to offer Australians the ultimate French Alpine city break, no flight to Europe needed.
With the cost of international travel continuing to climb and the geopolitical situation making long-haul trips uncertain, Melbourne is making a compelling case to be
Australia’s European winter destination this season.
Fondue Chalet, Melbourne’s beloved French Alpine dining experience, has partnered with DoubleTree by Hilton Melbourne to create the ultimate European-style winter
escape, combining a winter-decorated hotel stay with an immersive night in the French Alps, right in the heart of the city.

The European escape that doesn’t require a boarding pass
For Australians dreaming of cobblestone villages, crackling fires and melted Alpine cheese, the trip to Europe has never felt further away.
“Surging airfares, ongoing instability across parts of the globe, and the relentless pressure of inflation have many Australians rethinking their travel plans entirely.
Melbourne’s answer? Come south instead.”
From Thursday 14 May and for a limited time, Federation Square transforms into a glowing Alpine village, as Fondue Chalet returns with private wooden chalets,
French-accented hospitality and the age-old ritual of gathering around melted cheese on a winter’s night. The experience is fully operated by a French team,
bringing genuine Alpine recipes, traditions and warmth straight from the mountains of France to the banks of the Yarra.

A winter room to match the occasion
DoubleTree by Hilton Melbourne is leaning all the way into the season, with specially decorated winter rooms designed to extend the European atmosphere from the
moment guests check in. Think cosy, warm and entirely transporting, the kind of setting that makes a weekend feel like a proper getaway.
Together, a night at DoubleTree and an evening at Fondue Chalet creates something rare: a complete change of scene, without the 24-hour travel day to earn it.”Across France and the Alps, fondue and raclette bring millions of people together
around the table every winter. It’s what we simply call the joy of the table,” says Vincent Hernandez, founder of Fondue Chalet. “In France they are not just meals,
they are moments shared with family and friends. Seeing that same ritual happening here in Melbourne is incredibly special.”
