Company Celebrates International Surfing Day With Donation

On the 18th June Hawaiian Shirts Online donated a full day of profits ($182 AUD) to a charity operating in Sydney called Waves of Wellness Foundation to celebrate International Surfing Day.

Waves of Wellness foundation (WOW) is a charity known for offering mental health therapythrough surfing and operating in 4 states around Australia. Thanks to their amazing team they helped more than 2100 people through providing specialized surf therapy programs. Their aim isto erase the stigma around mental health treatment and offer innovative techniques by taking wellness programs to the next level.

“Thank you for letting us know of the opportunity and even better that we have yoursupport. As a lean charity that puts everything into the community work we do – every dollar counts! The donation will go towards putting two people who are struggling with mental ill-health through a clinical-based surf therapy session to receive the help and tools they need to manage their mental health.”

–Justine Robertson (National Partnerships Manager)

Launched by Surfing Magazine and The Surfrider Foundation in 2005, International Surfing Day is an environmentally conscious sports-centered holiday that celebrates the sport of surfing, surfing lifestyle, and the sustainability of ocean resources. The event is celebrated every year on the third Saturday of June.

Hawaiian Shirts Online is dedicated to helping those in need. They decided to support a different organisation regularly by organising a fundraising event.
