South Eveleigh launches Rekindled, a free winter community lounge steeped in childhood nostalgia.

Media Release/19 June 2026

South Eveleigh launches Rekindled, a free winter community lounge open from Tuesday 16 June to Saturday 18 July, located on the corner of Locomotive Street and Mitchell Way. The Rekindled lounge, opposite Anita Gelato offers visitors a place to unwind and relax.

Designed as a space where nostalgia meets the present, Rekindled offers warm and inviting spaces to settle into, classic board games to rediscover, jukebox tunes to enjoy and the chance to write a letter to your future self. Whether stopping by for a solo lunchtime reset, gathering by the fire after work, or spending a weekend morning with family, Rekindled is a place designed for everyone.

Michael Carabetta, portfolio manager at South Eveleigh: “Winter is the perfect time to slow down and find warmth in one another’s company. Our Rekindled program is about creating a genuine pause in the day, a free space where our community can gather, create and connect. From knitting for charity on a Tuesday to vinyl nights on a Thursday, there’s a reason to come back every week.”

Full program includes:

About South Eveleigh

Mirvac, together with its consortium partners, Mirvac Wholesale Office Fund, Australian Retirement Trust and Centuria Property Funds, has revitalised South Eveleigh. Once the birthplace of Australia’s national rail network and the country’s successful industrialisation, the vision of the partners was to restore the precinct to its place as a technology and innovation powerhouse that will strengthen Sydney’s standing as a truly global city. South Eveleigh is a lifestyle destination and food mecca that welcomes, celebrates and enriches the lives of its communities.

The transformation has also enabled Mirvac to preserve and celebrate the site’s heritage through a number of initiatives such as the refurbishment of the Locomotive Workshops, an Australian-first Indigenous Community Rooftop Garden, public artworks and the integration of heritage artefacts as public art.
