Official Tasting notes

A blend of Shiraz & Cabernet Sauvignon from the Barossa, McLaren Vale and Adelaide Hills. Bright and energetic colour, with lifted fragrant spice and dark wild fruit aromas of blackberry and blood-plum. This is an elegant wine without a massive big structure mor of an elegant refined structure which shows the evolving modern style of Australian reds.At the same time it is a  generous wine in terms of having a  rich complex palate with smooth textural tannins contributing lovely palate length.

This wine will reward cellaring for 3 – 5 years.

Axel’s Tasting notes

“I would describe this wine as modern and seamless red using Australia traditional and globally unique combination of the twin varieties of Shiraz with Cabernet Sauvignon. Cabernet gives the wine structure, length and focus,.. whilst the Shiraz fills out the mid palette with opulent spicy peppery fruit. In this case the wine is not over the top in terms of a big heavy structure ,..(as Traditional Reds once were),…BUT rather has very silky smooth tannin and really belongs to the Fine Wine category…because of its elegant structure and finesse,…I reckon this wine would outlcass a lot of expensive wines in a blind tasting”

*Top Tip -In this writers humble opinion this wine fits into the $40.00 to 50.00 Premium Red category, if it was at Dan Murphy…so it really does represent exceptional value!

Enjoy with Lamb chops or Lamb rump or a good Porterhouse steak done on the Weber BBQ or Josper Grill BBQ if you have one.

Awards to date:

Royal Perth Wine 2023 – Silver medal.

*Wolf Blass Exclusive Release Shiraz Cabernet 2022 won the Dr Ray Beckwith  OAM MEMORIAL TROPHY for Best Traditional Australian Red Blend in the Adelaide Wine Show!
