Taking place across 9 and 10 of May, this two-day event invites Sydneysiders to step inside one of the city’s most intriguing spaces for the very first time, as The Cutaway opens its doors to the public following
a major transformation into a dynamic cultural destination beneath the harbour foreshore.

The vibrant weekend of free cultural experiences will include live music, performances, large-scale immersive art installations, The Barangaroo Artisan Markets, and Damulay Ngurang/Mother’s Day
celebrations.

At the heart of the weekend is a program rich of music, performance and visual art. A line-up of leading artists – including Kee’ahn, Filipino Aboriginal drummer and rapper DOBBY (Rhyan Clapham) and
electronic producer Alice Ivy – will fill the space with sound storytelling and energy, alongside immersive installations and striking creative showcases.

Audiences can also witness live art in action, with acclaimed artist Shaun Daniel Allen (Shal) transforming fabric through his bold, expressive practice, drawing on his Yugambeh and Bundjalung
heritage and roots in punk and community.

Highlight activity includes:

  • Live musical performances from NgaiireAlice Ivy and Kee’ahn,
  • Performances from DJs, dance performances throughout
  • Live art by Shaun Daniel Allen (Shal)
  • In the spirit of Damulay Ngurang, Sunday 31 May will mark National Reconciliation Week with a Welcome to Country, Yoga on Country and free cultural craft workshops
  • Free guided tours through Barangaroo Reserve will offer visitors the opportunity to connect with the history and significance of the site to the Gadigal people
  • Barangaroo Markets across Barangaroo South, will feature handmade homewares, fashion, jewellery, art and local food vendors

For those wanting a more hands-on experience, a series of Aboriginal cultural workshops will run throughout the weekend within The Cutaway’s new First Nation education space. From weaving to flower
crown-making, these sessions offer a meaningful and engaging way to connect with the culture, creativity and place.

Beyond The Cutaway, The Barangaroo Artisan Markets will return to the waterfront with more than 60 local makers and producers, while Aboriginal Cultural Tours through Barangaroo Reserve will run free for
this weekend only, offering deeper understanding of the site’s rich history and significance to the Gadigal people.

On Sunday, the program continues with Damulay Nguarang Mother’s Day, a heartfelt celebration honouring mothers, carers and matriarchs through culture, connection and shared experience. Set
against the natural beauty of Barangaroo, the day will feature Yoga on Country, cultural talks, weaving workshops and live performances – creating a meaningful and memorable way to celebrate Mother’s Day.

Whether dropping in for a single experience or spending the whole weekend exploring, Barangaroo Live invites Sydney to rediscover the precinct as a place of creativity, culture and community.
