City of Sydney

Sydney,04 September,2025

Party planners from Sydney and around the world are being urged to head to sydneynewyearseve.com to get started on making this year’s celebration truly memorable.

From the best viewing areas to information about restaurants, cruises and getting around on the night, the refreshed website is home to everything people need to know about the biggest night of the year.

“Sydney puts on a New Year’s Eve like nowhere else and with more than one million people travelling to the foreshore to watch the fireworks, a little planning goes a long way,” Lord Mayor of Sydney, Clover Moore AO said.

“Whether you’re committed to securing a family-friendly front row spot at one of the many free viewing areas at parks and headlands around the harbour or planning to go big with your booking, the official website has you covered.

“We’d love you to celebrate with us in Sydney.”

Find the links to register for free tickets at top viewing areas such as the Sydney Opera House Forecourt and the Cahill Expressway on our site.

More accessible viewing spots are available than ever before. Places can be booked at sydneynewyearseve.com/accessibility

What to expect on New Year’s Eve:

  • 7.30pm Smoking Ceremony
  • 8.30pm Sydney Harbour Bridge pylon projections and lighting effects begin
