Hot roasts, house parties or Santa paws? Solotel‘s Christmas in July delivers all three
Publicity release posted Thursday 25 June,2026
The best thing about Christmas in July is that there are no rules. Some long for warm winter roasts, others are after a packed dancefloor and questionable Christmas sweaters, while plenty would rather spend the day with their four legged best friend. This winter, Solotel is catering for all, with festive celebrations across Paddo Inn, Marlborough Hotel and The Bank Hotel; proving the festive season looks different for everyone.
Whether it’s a leisurely Sunday feast with a side of gravy and mulled wine, a late night house party to dance off the cold and dark, or a dog friendly Christmas celebration complete with Santa photos, each venue is putting its own spin on the tradition of sprinkling Christmas cheer in the middle of winter.

A Christmas feast, without the fuss
This July, Sundays at Paddo Inn are getting a festive makeover with a Christmas-style roast served in one of Sydney’s cosiest pub settings. With its warm interiors and classic English pub charm, it’s the perfect backdrop for a winter feast.
Guests are invited to settle in for a hearty roast from Il Baretto with seasonal vegetables, crispy potatoes and all the classic trimmings, alongside complimentary mulled wine upon arrival and live music.
Made for long lunches and lingering conversations, it’s the kind of winter gathering that feels right at home in Paddo Inn’s cosy surrounds.
Available every Sunday throughout July, with sittings at 1pm and 5pm for just $60pp. Bookings are essential. To book, visit HERE.
Santa Paws is coming to town
For those who believe Christmas is best spent with their furry companions, Newtown’s The Bank Hotel is hosting a dog friendly Christmas in July celebration on Saturday, 18th July.
In collaboration with Pupsy, the venue will host an afternoon of festive fun featuring pet stalls, Santa photos, giveaways and prizes for the best dressed pups. Whether sporting a Christmas costume or embracing their inner Grinch, four legged guests are encouraged to dress for the occasion.
Running from 12-3pm, the festive event offers the perfect excuse to enjoy a pub lunch and a $7 schooner while the dogs soak up the festive attention.

Festive season at full volume
Taking a less traditional approach to Christmas in July, The Marly is turning up the festive volume for a one-night-only celebration on Saturday, 25th July.
As part of its renowned House Party Saturdays series, the venue will transform into a festive themed house party, complete with live DJs, complimentary Santa hats, a festive photobooth for capturing the chaos, as well as an opportunity to sport one’s finest ugly Christmas sweater.
With Hard Rated pouring throughout the night and festive cheer dialled up, The Marly’s Christmas in July party is set to bring a lot of warmth to the middle of winter.
Festivities kick off from 9pm, with free entry available for early bird ticket holders arriving before 11pm. To book, visit HERE.
