First look inside Barangaroo’s newly transformed Cutaway this weekend

This Saturday and Sunday, Sydneysiders will get their first chance to step inside Barangaroo’s newly transformed $100 million venue, The Cutaway, as it opens to the public for the free two-day festival, Barangaroo Live.

Set against the backdrop of Sydney Harbour, the free weekend of live music, immersive art, cultural experiences and performances will unfold within The Cutaway’s dramatic 14-metre sandstone cliff walls, soaring new 2,300-capacity Main Hall and 13 custom timber trees inspired by Saltwater Country.

Highlight activity includes:

  • Live musical performances from NgaiireAlice Ivy and Kee’ahn,
  • Performances from DJs, dance performances throughout
  • Live art by Shaun Daniel Allen (Shal)
  • In the spirit of Damulay Ngurang, Sunday 31 May will mark National Reconciliation Week with a Welcome to Country, Yoga on Country and free cultural craft workshops
  • Free guided tours through Barangaroo Reserve will offer visitors the opportunity to connect with the history and significance of the site to the Gadigal people
  • Barangaroo Markets across Barangaroo South, will feature handmade homewares, fashion, jewellery, art and local food vendors
