AUSTRALIA’S LARGEST EASTER EGG TO BE UNVEILED AT THE GROUNDS OF ALEXANDRIA
ON EASTER SUNDAYHUGOS CHOCOLATES BRINGS A CRACKING EASTER MOMENT TO SYDNEY

Tuesday 24th March, 2026. Sydney is set for a truly egg-straordinary Easter as Australia’s largest Easter Egg is officially unveiled and then cracked at The Grounds of Alexandria on Easter Sunday (Sunday 5th April). This much-loved Easter tradition returns, with cult Aussie chocolatier Hugos Chocolates bringing their signature creativity to this year’s giant chocolate creation.
A show-stopping celebration of all things indulgent, joyful and chocolate-laden, the giant 1-tonne Easter egg will be the centrepiece of The Grounds’ Easter festivities, offering visitors a larger-than-life, interactive moment designed to delight families, chocolate lovers and social media alike.
Crafted by Australia’s most innovative chocolatier, Hugos, the oversized egg showcases the brand’s signature style; playful, premium and impossible to ignore. Standing at 3 metres tall and weighing in at a massive 1.2 tonnes (roughly the same size as a small car) the giant Easter Egg is made of 1200kgs of Australian-made chocolate and takes five full days to complete the build.
Expertly crafted in Villawood, it then makes its way to The Grounds, Alexandria, ready for its moment in the spotlight.
Having already the won hearts of consumers with their Milk Chocolate Pistachio Bombs which were hailed as ‘Australia’s answer to the viral Dubai chocolate trend’, the Hugos team have been quietly cementing their position as a major player in the confectionary space, with their products now available in 7-Eleven, Coles, Harris Farm and ALDI stores nationwide.
Hugos Chocolates founder, Costa Con said: “We’re thrilled to be part of The Grounds’ Easter celebrations this year. This egg is all about fun, creativity and sharing the joy of chocolate in a way that surprises and delights.”
The unveiling will take place from 5pm on Easter Sunday at The Grounds of Alexandria, one of Sydney’s most iconic dining and hospitality destinations.
