MILANO CORTINA 2026: A TASTE OF ITALY IN THE OLYMPIC VILLAGES

Over 450 kg of pasta is served every day in the Milan Olympic Village alone. Athletes are thrilled with pizza and tiramisu, alongside iconic products and dishes from the Games’ host regions.

Milan, 10 February 2026 – From the mountains of Cortina to the heart of Milan, the Olympic Villages of Milano Cortina 2026 are more than places to rest between competitions. They bring together performance, daily life and Italian culinary tradition, offering athletes from around the world the best of Italian gastronomy through tailored nutrition and local cuisine.

The “Food for Fuel” concept ensures that every athlete has access to the right nutritional profiles to support training and competition, following IOC guidelines. Meal options address various nutritional needs while respecting cultural and religious considerations, allowing everyone to feel at home.

The three main Olympic Villages of Milano, Cortina, and Predazzo, along with 11 supporting hotels in Bormio,Livigno, and Anterselva, follow the same culinary principles to guarantee consistency across all locations. Food is available 24 hours a day, with specific time windows for the three main meals.

Italian style is at the heart of the menus, with pasta and pizza in the carbohydrate stations, alongside local cold cuts, cheeses, fruits, and desserts. Alongside the great classics, the menu also features dishes and products rooted in the host territories, such as bresaola in Valtellina and canederli in Alto Adige, offering athletes an authentic taste of Italy throughout the Games.

Each day, up to 4,500 meals are prepared in the Milano Olympic Village, nearly 4,000 in the Cortina Olympic Village, and around 2,300 in the Predazzo Village, with an average of six chefs in each Village restaurant. Across all meals, athletes can choose from stations offering proteins, vegetarian options, international cuisine, and more, with the offerings changing between breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

In the Milano Olympic Village alone, the kitchens serve around 3,000 eggs and approximately 450 kilograms of pasta, reflecting both Italian culinary tradition and the energy needs of the athletes.

At the heart of it all, the Villages play a central role in supporting athletes’ daily needs with tailored nutrition, offering everyone a taste of Italy during the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Games.
