The final weekend of MFWF is here – here’s everything you need to eat at Baker’s Dozen

15 – 24 March

MFWF 2024

Friends, the final weekend of MFWF 2024 is here. It all comes down to this, and it’s all going down at Fed Square, thanks to the good folk at the City of Melbourne.

Mango yuzu tarts! Cherry and pistachio panettone! Hot cross bun doughnuts! Brown butter and leatherwood honey madeleines! ’Nduja escargots with honeycomb and fried rosemary! Eight-layer carrot, pecan and Valrhona chocolate cake! Pastrami, emmental cheese and salsa verde croissants! We can’t stress this enough: Baker’s Dozen is the Grand Prix of cakes, pastries and everything in between , and it’s going down this Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 from 11am till 4pm (or sold out) at Fed Sqaure, the home of all things delicious this weekend thanks to City of Melbourne.

At the very same time just a couple of metres away, a cast of Australia’s favourite celebs will be staking their good names on the strength of their snags. It’s called Celebrity Sausage, it’s presented by Baker’s Delight, and it features a full grill of bangers designed by the likes of Daen Lia, Art Simone, Matt Preston, Clare Bowditch, Remy Hii, Sarah Todd, Chyka Keebaugh, and Charlie and Ed Curnow, flamed to perfection and served on a slice of Bakers’ finest white.

More of a pizza cat? The Pizza Sessions, presented by Gozney, is the Festival’s hot and tasty home of pizza this weekend, featuring Festival-exclusive pies from Ellie Bouhadana (Hope St Radio), Casey Wall (Capitano, Bar Liberty), Lucy Whitlow (Figlia) and Theo Loizou (MasterChef).

Elsewhere in Fed Square, Dan’s Diner, presented by Dan Murphy’s, rocks on from midday till 9pm, with the addition of the Nobody Beats Dan Price Beater , an interactive game where you’ll pit your strength against a strongman – a Strong Dan – for the chance to share in a pool of loot, all complemented by the fun-packed action on the Festival Stage, presented by Vic Grown: a celebration of produce and a treasure trove of Festival giveaways. Speaking of giveaways, our official automotive partner Melbourne City Peugeot will also be at Fed Square this weekend, offering you the chance to win a $1,000 voucher to Gimlet.

It all comes down to this, Melbourne – we’ll see you at Fed Square, smack bang in the heat of the City of Melbourne, for the final weekend of MFWF 2024.
