The 2018 Spanish Film Festival (SFF) will screen nationally from 17 April exclusively at Palace Cinemas. These five highlights will form part of the curated program of films and events that will celebrate the culture, life and cinema of Spain.

THE TRIBE (La Tribu)took centre stage as the Opening Night Gala.

The female-driven story of family reconciliation is a sure-fire crowd-pleaser packed with music and laughs. Starring Carmen Machi as a street dancing mother reunited with her long-lost son (Paco León) and directed by one of Spain’s most respected filmmakers and actors, Fernando Colomo (Isla Bonita SFF16).

The film was shot largely around the neighbourhood of Badalona which is a coastal Village not far removed from barcelona and reached by a 30 minute train ride ..

Patrons and Guests were treated to some delicious Spanish style sandwiches and a glass of the everpopular FREIXENET CAVA prior to the screening but the afterparty gave participants the illusion they were in Barcelona with Spanish music and dancing and freeflowing Estrella cerveza, TORRES VINA SOL and Sangre de Toro which accompanied the Tapas and the delicious Paella. The Spanish Tapas and Paella were provided by the Catering company OLA LOLA which specializes in  serving home style, healthy and delicious Latin American foods. The  menu at Ola Lola brings together ingredients and flavours from all over South and Central America.
