The NSW Opposition needs to explain to the people of NSW where they stand on Net Zero, after the Liberals and Nationals split on the floor of Parliament today.

The Coalition had a chance to vote as a united front and show the people of NSW their stance on action to keep the lights on and put downward pressure on energy prices.

But instead, they split on the Government’s motion to support NSW’s legislated 2050 Net Zero emissions reduction target during a Public Interest Debate.

The Liberals sided with the NSW Labor Government to support their plan on Net Zero, while the Nationals voted to scrap the targets, slow down renewable energy projects and call for a moratorium on renewable energy projects.

The people of NSW deserve certainty.

The NSW Coalition is offering nothing but chaos, which is a recipe for blackouts and price spikes.

The Nationals have also back-flipped on their own legislated plan for the rollout of renewables. In contrast, the Minns Labor Government is getting on with building a reliable energy system for NSW.
