The Coffee Club Brews ‘Nowstalgic’ New Direction New Look, Nostalgic Favourites and Limited-Time Treats

Publicit Post/Brande Content 01 September,2025

Australia’s largest homegrown café group, The Coffee Club, has unveiled a fresh new direction, blending its beloved rich coffee heritage with a bold new design, flavours and energy for a new era.

The new direction draws inspiration from the café’s iconic 1980s origins and mixes in modern design, creating a fun ‘nowstalgic’ personality – a vibrant fusion of the old and the new – that is injected across everything from logo and in-store displays, to menu design, team T-shirts and exciting new menu items. Limited time ‘secret menu’ offers, such as Maple Bacon Pancakes and Chip Toasties, bring the launch to life for café-goers.

It’s all about feeling good and feeling welcome, whatever your tastes, and whether you’re a long-time regular or popping in for the first time.

The seasonally inspired menu features new flavours like the winter-warming Honey Butter Pancake – available as a stack, Granola with Pistachio and Berries, and retro additions to its range of Toasties. Tuck into a Tuna Melt, loaded with tuna chunks, dill, whole egg mayo, pickled gherkins, red onion and lashings of melted mozzarella and cheddar. Other old-school favourites at select stores include the Chicken Schnitzel, Bolognese and Mushroom Toasties – all built on traditional thick-cut white bread, with a side serve of crisps rounding out the flavour revival. Wash it down with another returning favourite, the Spider, in raspberry or passionfruit flavours – a taste of nostalgia and thirst-quenching summer vibes.

Or dive into something new and on-trend, like the indulgent Dubai-inspired Choc Pistachio or Pistachio Cloud Iced Lattes. It’s just the latest wave of innovation and evolution from The Coffee Club, which was first to introduce matcha lattes nation-wide, and brought other limited-time drinks to the table this year, including the Coconut Cloud Latte, Blueberry Iced Latte and Cracking Latte.

Weekly Secret Menu Items

To celebrate the new direction, The Coffee Club is launching ‘The Club for Everyone’, inviting everyone to come together – no matter your taste or how you take your coffee. Whether you’re craving a soy-vanilla twist in your morning coffee, an old-school Toastie at lunchtime, or you’re sneaking in for a slice of cake after work, there is something for everyone, anytime.

For the next two months, The Coffee Club is dialling up the fun with a host of never-seen-before weekly offers that celebrate individuality and unique flavours. The rotating offers are only available through The Club’s free app, with members notified of the secret menu item each week, including sweet and savoury Maple Bacon Pancakes, cheeky Chips & Gravy, and mighty Chip Toasties. Look out for other surprise offers, such as crust-free classic Toasties, Vegemite & Avo Toast, and a double dollop of Hollandaise sauce on your Eggs Benny.

Fresh Stores & Warm Welcomes

The rebrand marks the next chapter of The Coffee Club’s transformation, which began in 2024 with a major refurbishment program and the introduction of three new store formats tailored to the needs of each community. In the past 52 weeks, 52 stores have been refurbished with plans to reach 80 upgraded stores by the end of 2025. Major makeovers at flagship stores in Adelaide Terrace (WA), Bribie Island (QLD) and Empire Rockhampton (QLD) show off the new refurbishments.

In addition to refurbishments, a number of new cafés are expected to open by the end of the year, including in Noranda, Perth. The new Noranda store will open on Wednesday 1st October, celebrating with a Free Coffee Friday and a Super Saturday launch with $2 Brekkie Buns from 10am-2pm, games, prizes and children’s face painting.

Nikki Price, General Manager, Marketing and Product, says the refresh is shaped by what customers really want: “A welcoming place to relax, catch up and enjoy familiar, nostalgic favourites.”

“Our new brand look, refurbished stores, new menu items and limited-time offers are about The Coffee Club being relevant to customers. Whether you want your coffee with almond milk, your Eggs Benny with double hollandaise, or your Toastie crust-free, we want to celebrate everyone.”

“And it’s just the start of The Coffee Club’s transformation – there is more brewing, and more to look forward to.”
