On its 10th anniversary, Bastille Day will be celebrated in Sydney, with a unique and festive atmosphere that brings together food, wine, and art to commemorate the French Revolution. This celebration will feature 10 tons of cheese, 10,000 litres of wine, 100 vendors and 80 artists and will take place over four days.

To celebrate this 10-year milestone, Bastille will be expanding again all-around Circular Quay, spanning from The Rocks, The Overseas Passenger Terminal, East Circular Quay, Customs House, Quay Quarter Lanes and more. Get ready Sydney for the biggest Celebration of French culture in Asia Pacific.

From Thursday 13th to Sunday 16th July, locals and visitors alike will be swept away in a French wonderland of delectable food, exquisite wine, and captivating art. The Bastille festival is more than just a commemoration of France’s Freedom Day; it’s a remarkable opportunity to immerse oneself in France’s rich culture and history. With five distinct villages to explore, each with their own unique festivities, it’s a choose-your-own-adventure.

A CULINARY JOURNEY TO FRANCE: INDULGE IN CLASSIC DISHES AND FRENCH WINES
Leading culinary establishments in Sydney have joined forces to offer visitors an indulgent range of classic French dishes at the upcoming Bastille Festival. Expect to savour the likes of escargot, sweet and savory crepes, raclette, and much more, with the festival’s stars being the spiced warmth of mulled wine and the heavenly melted cheese.

But that’s not all! This year’s festival will feature collaborations with Sydney’s most avant-garde chefs and food artists, who will bring their unique creations to the festival. From cheese-flavored dishes to flambé, en-croute, and beyond, there will be a variety of exciting new dishes to try.

 

In addition to the delicious cuisine, a curated selection of exquisite French wines will be available for sampling and purchase. Visitors can also obtain a French passport for a day and embark on a journey through France’s most renowned wine regions with their passport being stamped in each region, from Bordeaux to Provence and Loire to Burgundy. With plenty of options available, guests can stroll around the festival with their wine glass, using their express pass and passport to request their wine tasting, making for a truly immersive experience.

 

EXPERIENCE THE ARTISTIC REVOLUTION: A CULTURAL EXPLORATION OF FRENCH ART AND CULTURE!

Get ready to be dazzled by 50 performances across multiple stages, including live bands, DJs, dance and street performances, live drawing and fire artists. Additionally, French movies will be screened in the outdoor cinema. The festival will transport you to the charming streets of Paris, providing an immersive experience.

From Thursday, July 13th to Sunday, July 16th, this year’s street festival will offer a diverse range of attractions, including gourmet French cuisine, art exhibitions, and a 1.4-kilometre wine-tasting tour around the Harbour. The Bastille Festival will be admission-free, however, attendees will have to pay for any food or beverages they wish to purchase as they explore the festival.
