“Opposition leader Chris Minns has been elected as NSW’s 47th Premier in a historic landslide election, securing a Labor government from Liberal in NSW after a 12-year reign and marking a Labor government across mainland Australia.”
“After 12 years under the Liberals and Nationals, New South Wales gets a fresh start.”
The Labor Parties Leaders final appeal on Saturday to “vote to invest in our essential services and support the nurses, teachers, and paramedics who keep them running.
Vote for better schools and hospitals, and to protect essential public assets like Sydney Water” appears to have been granted with massive support from the NSW electorate.
“Chris Minns will now form a majority Labor government and be the next Premier of NSW after voters savaged the Liberal Party in seats across Sydney, paving the way for Labor to govern in its own right for the first time in 12 years.”
According to ABC News Analysis ,..NSW Labor will hold at least 47 seats in the 93-member lower house, picking up at least nine seats from the Coalition.
“Labor’s gains included key seats in Western Sydney, such as Parramatta and Penrith. The nine seats still in doubt include former Premier Gladys Berejiklian’s former seat of Willoughby in Sydney.”
“Goulburn, Holsworthy, Kiama, Miranda, Oatley, Pittwater, Winston Hills and Wollondilly are also too close to call.”
“Minns arrived at the Novotel at Brighton-Le-Sands on Saturday night to address elated Labor supporters and was introduced by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.”
“Minns said Labor’s victory provided a mandate to remove the Coalition’s “unfair” public sector wages cap and change the state’s constitution to prevent any possible future sale of Sydney Water. “
“We will govern for everyone in NSW,” Minns said.”

“Whilst the Premier Dominic Perrottet NSW was focussed on moving forward and to keeping the Liberal and Nationals Government delivering the schools, hospitals, motorways and metros that make a real difference to the people of our great state the Labour party was putting a lfocus on issues such as Tolls, Wages, Hospital Staffing and and schools, Labor made the election about the mortgage belt voters who would decide it. It has very much proven to be the correct approach.On Saturday night, he was vindicated. Dominic Perrottet was keen to project a big vision for the state, pushing for stamp duty reforms and the so-called “Kids Future Fund” along with his gambling platform.”
