Merivale’s Coogee Pavilion introduces contactless ordering experience with me&u
me&u, Australia’s leading mobile ordering and payment platform today announced that Merivale’s much-loved seaside destination, Coogee Pavilion, has launched its contactless ordering experience.
Revolutionizing customer experience in the hospitality industry, me&u was designed to take care of the basics (order and payment), so hospitality staff can spend time on what is most important –serving, hosting and building relationships with guests.
Diners at Coogee Pavilion’s bustling ground floor will now have the option to tap onto “billy the beacon” (located on each table) to order and pay directly from their mobile phone. This means they will longer need to get up from the table, touch menus, stand in a queue at the bar, or wait to pay the bill if they don’t want to.
Founder of me&u Stevan Premutico says “this is one of the proudest moments in our short history.
Literally one year ago to the day, Justin [Hemmes] and the team road-tested me&u for the very first time. Today’s launch at the iconic Coogee Pavilion marks a new era in hospitality. No queuing, no menu, no cash – it’s beautiful and it’s super seamless.”
“I remember grabbing a coffee with Justin when me&u was still just an idea. We both believed the ordering and payment experience in hospitality needed to be rethought, reimagined, and reinspired.
Today that vision has been realized” added Premutico.
Coogee Pavilion’s ground floor is the first Merivale venue to offer me&u, with other Merivale venues including Vic on the Park and The Beresford expected to introduce it over the coming months. Justin Hemmes said “me&u’s innovative technology is an exciting addition to Merivale’s operations.
The magic of hospitality is all about connection; we want our staff to be able to focus on the human-experience – building the rapport with guests and serving them in the best possible way, and for our guests to focus on socializing with their friends and family. me&u removes the friction around the transactional side of the dining experience, so both the staff and guests have time for what matters most. It truly is a game-changer”.
me&u launched in July 2019 with Hemmes throwing his weight behind the young start-up in his first-ever technology investment. Hemmes believes me&u has an important role to play in crafting a better customer and hospitality experience and is passionate about eliminating the need to queue and wait at busy venues when guests could otherwise be socializing and enjoying time with friends and family.
Hemmes joined an impressive lineup of investors including Robbie Cooke (CEO Tyro), Neil Perry (Rockpool), Cliff Rosenberg (ex NED Afterpay, ex NED Dimmi, ex MD Linkedin APAC), William Easton (MD Facebook Australia, ex NED Dimmi), Jason Pellegrino (ex MD Google Aus), Mike Abbott (co-founder Uber Australia), Tim Reed (President Business Council Australia, ex CEO MYOB), and John Szangolies (restaurant entrepreneur and founder of Urban Purveyor Group).
me&u is growing fast with the platform now available at a number of Australia’s leading hospitalitybrands including The Rockpool Group, The Opera Bar, Solotel Group, Colonial Leisure Group, Watsons Bay Hotel, Barangaroo House, Moon Dog World, Riverbar & Kitchen, Howard Smith Wharves, The Portsea Hotel, The Fiddler, The Camfield and many more. me&u is generating up to 80% adoption in venues and spend increases as high as 30% when customers use me&u.
