Sydney’s Best Pizzeria Launches “Pasta Menu” to Celebrate 13th Anniversary !
Sydney’s Lucio Pizzeria, which has won a host of awards since opening including Best Pizza in Australia, is celebrating becoming a teenager! However instead of slamming doors closed as most teens do, Lucio’s is instead adding even more amazing Italian cuisine to the menu of its flagship Darlinghurst store, with a range of handmade pastas now available.
“Perfectly timed as the autumn weather begins to take hold of the city, the warming pasta additions are much-loved staples of his homeland, including lamb shoulder ragu, orecchiette with pesto Genovese, and gnocchi with buffalo mozzarella, tomato and basil. All handmade on site each day, Lucio says that after 13 years of focusing on pizza, it was time to expand the much-loved menu to showcase the pastas he cooks for himself when he truly wants a taste of Italy. ”
“The inability to travel has impacted so many of us, “ he said, “and as I am usually back in Italy regularly to buy the restaurants’ wines, I found myself really missing the truly authentic pastas of Naples. Since I, nor any of our customers, can’t travel to Italy, I wanted to bring more of Italy to them.”
The new dishes add to a concise menu that has made Lucio’s authentic and snug Darlinghurst location a firm favourite amongst the Italian community as well as lovers of good Italian food.
“The new pastas are also available at the Zetland venue, and pasta-making classes will be introduced to both venues in May. Fresh handmade pasta will also be available to take home, on request. ”
Born and raised in Naples, Lucio De Falco has been making pizza and pasta since he was 14 years old. Prior to making his way to Australia at the age of 21, Lucio cooked in locations all over Europe, making a name for himself as a truly authentic pizzaiolo. Introducing Sydneysiders to true Neapolitan pizza in 2008, Lucio Pizzeria’s offering has never wavered from his traditional roots, and the addition of pasta made on site each day is Lucio’s way of celebrating the next phase of his cooking journey.
