“In order to enjoy freshly cooked seafood in situ,..there are now a few tables and chairs... (even though this is essentially a takeaway place ) where you buy fresh fish to cook at home. The prices are moderate to expensive,.., but this is Woollahra and You are paying for the quality that comes from a Providore and it is right next to the amazing Victor Churchill Meat Providores,..so everything is relative.
It is very convenient if you live in the area, or need a takeaway and it’s on your way somewhere. You can skip UBER EATS or “dodgy delivery services” by phoning Costi’s ahead and Your order will be ready when You get there!!

History Of Costi’s
Steve Costi’s business started when his father Con opened a fish shop in Lakemba in 1958. Costi now runs several fishmongers under the name Steve Costi’s Famous Fish. Costi’s Fish & Chips operate a number of venues throughout Sydney, with Steve Costi’s father Con first opening a fish shop in Lakemba in 1958. Steve continued the family tradition by operating the Costi retail stores in the seafood industry from the early ’80s following the same business model and format that his dad established for much of this time. Over time he saw the opportunity for the traditional fresh seafood stores to start incorporating a cooked element into their business. The simple concept of synergy then saw Steve successfully integrate the two to create some outstanding stores that have become somewhat of an institution in their own right. Having mastered the cooked element, Steve then took the idea one step further and created the Modern Fish and Chip store, and so Steve Costi’s Seafood was born!
