Cook with her…
Sydney Seafood School is Australia’s premier seafood cooking school, located at Sydney Fish Market, and has a huge range of options on offer for Mother’s Day.
On Sunday May 9th, they are hosting a special Seafood BBQ cooking class for the occasion, where you can work together with your Mum to learn how to take your weekend barbie from casual to gourmet. Kick off with seafood canapes and a glass of wine (or a beer) before preparing a feast of crisp-skinned fish with tangy limo mayo, moreish prawns in a chermoula marinade, and a refreshing Thai squid salad. Bookings are for groups of 2, 4 or 6 people, with each group having a dedicated fully-equipped cooking island and dining table.
If your Mum likes a fancy cheese, gourmet condiments, or unique sweet treats, Blackwattle Deli at Sydney Fish Market has endless gift options that she is going to love. Gather supplies for a decadent cheese platter, put together a gift basket of truffle oil and fancy sauces, or tie a bow around some international chocolates and biscuits, and you’re sure to make her day.
Blackwattle Deli even has a gourmet selection platter available especially for the occasion, which is being sold at a discounted $85, when they are normally priced at $100! Featuring a selection of soft, hard, and blue cheeses, mild and spicy salami, prosciutto, olives, crackers and accompaniments, the platter feeds 3-4 people and is a lovely gift for an afternoon tea with Mum. Order one here.
Many of our retailers will also be running Mother’s Day specials, including:
- Nicholas Seafood: Use code “MUMDAY” at checkout for 15% off sitewide (active for orders from now until May 10).
- Peter’s Sydney Fish Market: Offering gift cards of $50 and $100, available to order by phone or email.
- De Costi Sydney Fish Market: Offering a variety of specials on Western Rock Lobster, Pacific Oysters and more. Updates available here.
If you can’t make it to this class, Sydney Seafood School gift certificates make the perfect gift for any seafood or cooking enthusiast. Available for both face to face classes and SSS@Home kits, gift certificates are valid for three years, so Mum can make use of it whenever it suits her!
If you haven’t heard of it yet, SSS@Home is a virtual cooking class; a fun hands-on cooking experience in your own kitchen at your own pace, resulting in a delicious meal for two! Recipe kits include all the fresh seafood, vegetables, herbs and premium pantry items required, plus detailed printed recipes and a step-by-step video. So, if Mum is already a great home-cook, or wants to learn some new skills, a gift certificate for a kit makes a lovely and thoughtful gift.
If Mum is the adventurous type, you can also purchase a Behind the Scenes Tour of Sydney Fish Market on her behalf. She’ll get an exclusive look at the market’s iconic Auction Floor (which the general public don’t normally have access to), and learn all about the hundreds of seafood species that pass through Sydney Fish Market every day.
