ADELAIDE, Australia, 17th March 2023 – University of Technology Sydney student, Tom Hadley, has been announced as the winner of Red Bull Doodle Art Australia 2023. Hadley was awarded the winning title at last night’s Australian National Final in Adelaide, where they beat out over 1,000 doodle artwork entries from across the country.

Now, this emerging young talent will collaborate with Burnt Toast, professional artist, and co-founder of Doodles, to prepare for the Red Bull Doodle Art World Final, taking place in Amsterdam this May. At the World Final, Hadley will exhibit a new doodle among a gallery of international finalists, all looking to be crowned the Red Bull Doodle Art World Champion for 2023.

A Global competition that empowers a new generation of artists, Red Bull Doodle Art invites students and creatives from across the globe to let their minds wander and express themselves in imaginative doodles. All that’s needed to enter is simply pen and paper, and in the 2023 edition more than 1,000 doodles were submitted from Australia alone. But only one creative can take out top honours, with Hadley now advancing to the World Final, where he will represent Australia amongst the best doodle artists from over 60 countries.

Now, the weeks leading up to the World Final will be intense and inspiring, as the Aussie winner collaborates with professional artist, Burnt Toast, to prepare a fresh artwork for Amsterdam, this time in digital format as an NFT collectible. Scott Martin, better known as Burnt Toast, is a Canadian-based illustrator, designer, animator, and muralist. Burnt Toast is the artist and co-founder of Doodles which is a community-driven collectibles project which features over 10,000 NFTs.

Hadley looks forward to meeting other aspiring artists from around the globe at the World Final. “I can’t wait to see what other artists have done in other countries as I grab so much inspiration from others,” he said.

Taking place May 25-27, the Red Bull Doodle Art World Final in Amsterdam will be a ‘phygital’ experience involving both the physical and digital realms of art. Hadley will join 61 other national finalists from around the globe for workshops, creative sessions and more, and their NFT doodles will be displayed in an exclusive gallery for the chance to be selected as the Red Bull Doodle Art World Champion for 2023.
