SYDNEY – McDonald’s Australia is officially bringing the “pub feed” to the drive-thru with the nationwide launch of the Bistro Béarnaise Angus range. Starting recently , burger enthusiasts can trade the traditional ketchup and mustard for a taste of French-inspired luxury.
The new limited-edition lineup aims to capture the nostalgia of a classic Sunday pub lunch, elevated by a rich, buttery Béarnaise sauce that has already sparked a frenzy among early taste-testers.
What’s on the Menu?
The star of the show is the Bistro Béarnaise Angus, a substantial build featuring a 100% Aussie Angus beef patty, crispy bacon, melted cheese, fresh tomato, and lettuce. The real “game-changer,” however, is the addition of crispy fried onions and the signature creamy Béarnaise sauce, all served on a premium toasted sesame and poppy seed bun.
For those with a “go big or go home” appetite, Macca’s has also released the Bistro Béarnaise Double Angus, stacking two of the juicy patties for a truly indulgent experience.

In a move that leans even further into Australian pub culture, McDonald’s has also announced that Kirks Lemon, Lime & Bitters has joined the permanent drinks menu.
“We know Aussies love big, bold flavours and those iconic pub favourites,” said Amanda Nakad, Marketing Director for McDonald’s Australia. “For the first time, we’re levelling up our burgers with a delicious, creamy Béarnaise sauce… It really doesn’t get more Aussie than that.”
