Raptor Squad detectives have charged a man following an attack on a Tallawong home last month involving gunfire and grenades.
About 4.40am on Thursday 27 November 2025, emergency services responded to reports of a shooting on Loura Street in Tallawong.
Officers attached to Riverstone Police Area Command attended and were told two unidentified men had attempted to force entry into a home using a sledgehammer.
One of the men allegedly attempted to shoot at the home, but when his firearm malfunctioned, threw a stun grenade inside.
The pair then retrieved another firearm from their vehicle and fired two shots at the house.
The two occupants of the home were uninjured.
The men left the scene in a Mazda CX5, before crashing on Ashburton Crescent and fleeing on foot.
The Dog Squad tracked the men to First Ponds Creek, where police located the men’s clothing, including a balaclava, hooded jumper, pants and gloves.
During a search of the vehicle, police located and seized a live grenade, two firearms – one loaded, a magazine, a mobile phone and other items including bleach and clothing.
Officers from the Bomb and Rescue Squad and Australian Defence Force personnel attended to safely remove the grenade.
