Many NSW businesses are eligible for government grants, rebates, loans and funding such as:

  • wage subsidies of up to $10,000 for new staff
  • payroll tax rebates for new apprentices and trainees
  • fee-free courses for new trainees.

Make a difference this Safe Work Month

Stay on top of the next ATO deadlines

Here are the key dates you should plan for to meet your upcoming tax obligations and avoid penalties or interest charges:

  • 28 October – Quarter 1 business activity statements (BAS) if you lodge via paper (or 11 Nov. via online or 25 Nov. via a registered tax or BAS agent).
  • 31 October – Business tax return if you lodge it yourself.
  • 21 November – Payment date if you have a tax debt on your tax return and lodge your return yourself.

Tip: To avoid last-minute BAS stress, keep the GST you collect separate from your cash flow so you’re ready to pass it on.
