TARONGA ZOO’S SKY SAFARI TO BE TRANSFORMED WITH $80 MILLION INVESTMENT
Taronga Zoo’s much-loved Sky Safari will soon sit alongside Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House as one of the city’s premier visitor attractions, with the NSW Government funding a stunning $81.3 million upgrade.
Treasurer Matt Kean said the revitalised Sky Safari is an exciting step for Taronga and NSW.
“This project is about reinvigorating Sydney and will provide a significant boost to the Sydney Visitor Economy, all while supporting wildlife and conservation. This will make sure our most loved experiences like the Zoo are welcoming and accessible for all,” Mr Kean said. “Taronga Zoo is known around the world as the “Zoo with a View” and the exciting new development takes advantage of the Zoo’s topography to provide an unforgettable and inclusive tourism experience for guests of all ages and abilities. “The project will allow Taronga to welcome even more guests and create 390 direct and indirect jobs during construction. This will significantly bolster the NSW economy by re-engaging our local, domestic and international travel markets.”
